Non-woven fabric is a fabric-like material made from staple fibre (short) and long fibres (continuous long), bonded together by chemical, mechanical, heat or solvent treatment. The term is used in the textile manufacturing industry to denote fabrics, such as felt, which are neither woven nor knitted. Some non-woven materials lack sufficient strength unless densified or reinforced by a backing. In recent years, non-woven have become an alternative to polyurethane foam.
Nonwoven fabrics provide specific functions such as absorbency, liquid repellence, resilience, stretch, softness, strength, flame retardancy, washability, cushioning, thermal insulation, acoustic insulation, filtration, use as a bacterial barrier and sterility. These properties are often combined to create fabrics suited for specific jobs, while achieving a good balance between product use-life and cost. They can mimic the appearance, texture and strength of a woven fabric and can be as bulky as the thickest paddings. In combination with other materials they provide a spectrum of products with diverse properties, and are used alone or as components of apparel, home furnishings, health care and consumer goods. Non-woven materials are used in numerous applications.
Non-woven bags are are manufactured using any other material that is not woven. The product can be produced mechanically, chemically or thermally. Non-woven fabric is also made from fibres. However, the fibres are entangled together through whatever process is applied to them, as opposed to being woven together.
Non woven, polypropylene bags are tagged as “eco-friendly” because they can be reused more than once， and the using-time is more longer than simple plastic bags. Cotton is biodegradable, environmentally friendly and most importantly point is durable. The first reason why non woven bags and paper bags are environmentally friendly is the fact that they are made from recycled materials. However since they are recyclable means that they cause little or no pollution and thus is great for our environment.
The non-woven fabrics have many advantages:
1. Aeration filtration.
2. Absorbent insulation waterproof.
3. Not scalable.
4. Unkempt feel good, soft light.
5. Elastic recovery without cloth direction.
6. Compared with the production of textile fabrics high production speed, low price.
7. Can be produced in large quantities and so .
Non-woven fabrics are long fibers that have been bonded together using some sort of heat, chemical, or mechanical treatment. ... In most cases, woven fabrics are more durable and strong than non-woven. This is due to the fact that woven fabrics are reinforced by thread crossing thread, which creates a strong barrier.
There is no cloth that is used in it,” said jarnail. But another plastic dealer, vinay kansal, said that the non-woven bags lent themselves more readily to re-use than polythene bags. “The fact is that these non-woven bags can be re-used whereas polythene bags can't be. So in that sense these bags are fine.
